Nope, I haven't. But, I moved to a different state. The elders here harassed me for a bit, then I moved to another city. I quit going to meetings once I moved away....never carried my publishers card with me. I'm still wondering if they will tract me down, and if I will get a suprise visit from one of the elders.

Hello to all of you...

i have been away from the wts for a while, but lately have felt a need to get in touch with others who have travelled the same path.
until relatively recently, i thought that all was "well" (relatively speaking) in the organization, but have found it facinating to read the comments of those who are still associated with the wts and how they are dealing with it.

My kids would love to find new friends. The only ones they have now are the ones at the kingdom hall when my Ex takes them. They need to expand their horizons and see that not all non JW's are evil.

Really? My ex-husband is always telling my kids (whom he takes to the meetings on Thursday nights) that I am going to die in Armagedon. I have legal custody now, but this infuriates me because my children get very bothered by this...and they beg me to go back to the meetings. I tell them why I won't go in a way that they will understand, considering their age. This really gives me something to think about next time he brings up custody issues!

I am suprised, Farkel. You are the last one that I expected to answer my post! I really do appreciate your comments....
All kidding aside, I also thought it would be a great way to meet new friends (and live, not internet) for myself and my kids. I went to my first orientation last Thursday. So far, the people I met there were ones that have been withe PWP along time and their kids are grown and out of the house! They were very nice and most of them were quite a bit older than myself, but they invited me to join them in volleyball every Thursday night. So, I think I might just give it a try. Why not?
I was hoping to meet people closer to my age (36), and my children's ages. But, maybe if I hang around a bit, I might find some. I'm out for the experience of it all.

They get bored and I am constantly trying to think of things to do that are fun and entertaining for them, so I decided to look into Parents Without Partners. They have a whole calendar of events for the kids and for the Adults. I wouldn't mind looking into the Adult Only fun, too. I would also like to meet friends to share ideas and to share some time with.
Any of you here have had an experience with PWP? What are they like? What was your feeling on them? Where they of any help? Any comments any of you wish to share?
